EU is helping to fund the new project, named Sartre (Safe Road Trains for the Environment).The aim with the project is to develop and test technology for vehicles that can drive themselves in long road trains on motorways. The technology use existing ADAS sensor and systems to allow vehicles to follow a lead vehicle autonomously. Energy savings are calculated around 20%.

Valmet Automotive to manufacture electric cars
This year, Valmet Automotive will start the manufacturing of two electric vehicles in Uusikaupunki, Finland. The first electric Garia golf cars have already been delivered to the Danish Garia A/S, and the first plug-in Fisker Karma hybrid cars recharged from the grid will be delivered to the American Fisker Automotive towards the end of the year.
