Tokyo Motor Show 2009
Mitsubishi has unveiled an all-new plug-in hybrid crossover concept ahead of its official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. Called the Concept PX-MiEV, the four-wheel drive concept comes equipped with two electric motors that push out a total of 80bhp.

At the Tokyo Motor Show almost all cars runs with electricity. The concept car Land Glider from Nissan is part city sportcar, part a tandem motorcycle and totally zero-emissions. The Land Glider is just 1.1 metres wide. The new freaky and wacky concept car Land Glider from Nissan is different. The car use lithium-ion batteries and has a charging system that allows the vehicle to be charged wirelessly. Now German researchers say a new type of electric vehicle battery that runs on electrolyte fluid can be recharged as easily as refilling a petrol tank. Battery researchers use so-called redox flow batteries using liquid electrolyte. The old electrolyte can then be recharged at the station and used again. Read more »

Electric cars will make up shortfall in city’s original plan to roll out a hydrogen-powered fleet. Norwegian company Think was due to deliver 13 and French company Mega would provide two work vehicles before the UN climate conference in Copenhagen in December.
Now only eight hydrogen cars are expected to be delivered – six from Think and two from Mega.
