Audi E-Tron and A2 - Audi is investing 11.6 billion Euro in product development

Audi is investing 11.6 billion Euro in product development from 2011 to 2015 and the company are planning 20 new models during this period.

Audi will emply at least 1200 new specialists that will work with development in the area of hybrid and electric vehicles and new lightweight construction techniques.

In product development includes at least two radical electric vehicle ventures -
the supercar E-Tron based on the R8 (2012) and A2 (2013) aluminum car that will become an electric car with steel body and electric drivetrain.

Audi's electric car A1 e-tron is tested in Germany

One million electric cars on the roads and 200 new electric charging stations. That is the vision for the future of electric cars in Germany. Audi's MCV (Mega City Vehicle), A1 e-tron will go out in traffic. 20 copies of the Audi A1 e-tron is part  of a pilot project in the study of electric cars. The project is supported by Audi, Electricity company E. ON, the City Administration in Munich and the Technical University of Munich.

Google has worked with the automotive industry to bring services like Local Search into cars in the past now they're teaming up with Audi to bring Google Earth to the car. In a blog they speak about Google Maps and local search.

Audi receives "Bad Company Award"

Consumers International gives Audi "Bad Company Award" for suggesting its diesel cars are clean and green. The organisation highlight irresponsible behaviour and consist of 220 member organisations in 115 countries.  It is a bit ironic since Audi A3 TDI  just had had been named green car of the year 2010 announced by the Green Car Journal.
