In November 2010, the Mayor in London Boris Johnson declared that Source London, the capital's citywide electric vehicle charging network will go live next spring. The new network will deliver 1,300 public charging points across London by 2013.

Chevrolet Volt electric car first shown up at  North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit in 2007 then as a concept car. It is a plug-in hybrid car from General Motors.

Katrineholm inaugurated the city's first charge spot for electric vehicles at Fredsgatan 40 in Katrineholm. It is the electricity company Bixie, Katrineholms municipality, and Katrineholm Energy and Utsikt Nät AB, which together will position charging station for the development of future electric vehicles. Standard chargers resolution to boost EV adopted by European Parliament

Standard chargers for electric cars would be a major step towards a single European electric vehicle market, says a resolution adopted by European Parliament on Thursday. Smart electricity grids would also make these vehicles easier to use. More broadly, MEPs call for a balanced development of related technologies with more EU support to innovation in this field.

 

Electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids are a major option in the broader strategy to curb CO2 emissions, contributing to the Europe 2020 priorities of developing a more resource-efficient and greener economy.

Valmet Automotive to manufacture electric cars
This year, Valmet Automotive will start the manufacturing of two electric vehicles in Uusikaupunki, Finland. The first electric Garia golf cars have already been delivered to the Danish Garia A/S, and the first plug-in Fisker Karma hybrid cars recharged from the grid will be delivered to the American Fisker Automotive towards the end of the year.
