There is a giant technological jump to electrification in the car industry and one
day we all will be driving full electric vehicles (EV). Some market strategists believe the transformation process will lead to series production in considerable numbers in the next years. A widespread market presence appears possible within ten years.
An electric car is an alternative fuel automobile that uses electric motors and motor controllers for propulsion. Electric cars can be considered zero emission vehicles since they give off no emission when running.

Nissan LEAF today received the award "European Car of the Year" 2011. The world's first affordable, 100 percent electric vehicle for the global market won against 40 conventional competitors and won the motor industry's most prestigious award. This was the first time in the annual competition's 47-year history that the prize went to an electric car. The jury consisted of 57 senior motoring journalists from 23 European countries.

The Swedish paper TTELA have written an article that Saab will debut first electric car ZE 9-3 at the Paris Motor Show. 9-3 ePower, is an electric version of the 9-3 SportCombi. The new electric car is a concept car, designed to show that Saab will be just as fast on its feet as the principal owner Victor Muller and Jan Ake Jonsson said that it can be - and use the speed as a competitive advantage.The electric vehicle has according to the newspaper been developed in collaboration with, among others Innovatum and ElectroEngine.

China said that it would launch a pilot subsidy programme to run in five cities to provide to buyers of electric and hybrid cars, as the government steps up efforts to cut emissions in the world’s biggest auto market . Residents of Shanghai and Shenzhen, as well as Hangzhou, Hefei and Changchun would receive up to 50,000 yuan ($ 7,320) in subsidies if they buy plug-in hybrid cars, the Ministry of Finance said on its website.

Eight families in Juelsminde in Denmark is now driving around in electric car in three months. This is the first round of this electric car project, which spans the next three years end - and the next round can begin. The study warns that existing EU legislation on car emissions is flawed because it allows manufacturers to use sales of electric vehicles to offset the continued production of gas-guzzling cars. So-called ‘super credits’ allow carmakers to sell 3.5 high-emitting cars for every electric car sold, without affecting their overall CO2 target.
According to the report, increasing sales of electric cars to 10% of the total could lead to a 20% increase in both oil consumption and CO2 emissions in the EU car sector.

Velozzi is a gorgeous exotic 770 HP plug-in multifuel hybrid electric super car. The car producer is based in Los Angeles.
The Velozzi Supercar will be powered by a 770 HP AC induction electric motor. The SOLO will be a lightweight plug-in hybrid electric crossover with an on-board multi fuel micro turbine battery charger manufactured for the global market. Velozzi has 17 global OEM suppliers. With C-ZERO Citroën now expands its program in the small car class with a fully electric car. It is a city car with minimum overall dimensions, length of 3.48m and a turning radius of 9 meters. It load (80% at 30 minutes) and has a range of 130 km. Citroen C-ZERO is a technology-intensive car developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) and will be sold in the last quarter of 2010.
