Honda's small car smart Jazz is becoming electrified. Earlier in the fall the car the hybrid version was shown and now the Jazz took the next step and become all-electric. 2012 the Jazz EV produced at full capacity and will be sold in the U.S. and Japan.

Lithium-ion batteries will provide a range of about 160 kilometers and can be charged in six hours via a 240-volt outlet. The technology in the car is partially derived from the hydrogen car Honda FCX Clarity.

The single largest component cost with an electric car is the battery.
Unfortunately batteries are still too poor, and above all too expensive. The goal is to have a light, secure and less costly batteries.
