Electric car Nissan Leaf has an advanced system that makes it possible to remotely control the car via cell phone. It allows the owner instance can check the battery via the phone, even though the car is turned off.
The mobile operator Telenor with the system Connexion let the owner of Nissan LEAF to use a mobile phone or PC to check the battery status and scope, turn on the car's air conditioning, etc. even when Nissan LEAF-car is parked and completely shut off. This is the first time such connectivity will be standard for an electric car.

The film, called Revenge Of The Electric Car released in 2011.

Nissan LEAF today received the award "European Car of the Year" 2011. The world's first affordable, 100 percent electric vehicle for the global market won against 40 conventional competitors and won the motor industry's most prestigious award. This was the first time in the annual competition's 47-year history that the prize went to an electric car. The jury consisted of 57 senior motoring journalists from 23 European countries.

Pierre Loing head of Nissan Europe's product planning and electric cars said during a press briefing that the company is planning three new electric cars in 2014.

The North American International Autoshow in Detroit opens up January 11 to 24th 2010. At least 30 new vehicles are scheduled to be revealed for the first time this week and a number of electric-powered vehicles are set to debut at the North American International Auto show.
