Ten years after they killed the electric car somebody must be first out.
Electric cars are here to stay. Next year a sequel documentary about electric cars is planned It is the american filmmaker Chris Paine who wrote and directed Who Killed the Electric Car?

The film, called Revenge Of The Electric Car released in 2011.
The film takes us behind the scenes at GM, Nissan, Tesla and gives us an insight into the electric car industry. Car manufacturers are under pressure and there is a race of who produces the best and most popular electric car.

Toyota RAV4 EV (electric vehicle)

The second-generation RAV4 EV demonstration vehicle represents an important milestone in Toyota’s unique collaboration project with Tesla. RAV4 EV has electric car technology, battery and electric motor systems, from Tesla. One demo car can be seen at the Los Angeles Auto Show (Laas) and they have said that there are 35 prototypes but still there need to take final decisions on batteries. Toyota's goal is to ship the model during 2012.

The car has a range of approx. 160 km
RAV4 EV weighs about 100 kilograms more than the regular version.

Premiere of first public charge spot for electric vehicles

Katrineholm inaugurated the city's first charge spot for electric vehicles at Fredsgatan 40 in Katrineholm. It is the electricity company Bixie, Katrineholms municipality, and Katrineholm Energy and Utsikt Nät AB, which together will position charging station for the development of future electric vehicles. Première station inaugurated by Mayor Goran Dahlstrom has the opportunity to test electric car refueling Tesla Roadster.

Tesla - a new business model

Tesla Motors is preparing an initial public offering it hopes will  raise as much as $100 million. The application documents shows that Tesla Motors plans to stop building Roadster in 2011.Tesla larger car, the Model S, will start production 2012th.

The Model S powertrain features a liquid-cooled, floor-mounted battery pack.
Three battery pack options offer a range of 160, 230 or 300 miles per charge. With the 45 minute QuickCharge or a 5 minute battery swap, you can drive from LA to San Francisco, Washington to New York or take even longer road trips in about the same time as in a conventional car. Full charge 3.5 hours using the High Power Connector or 45 minute QuickCharge

Deliveries start 2011.
