Volvo C30 DRIVe Electric

Volvo's first series-built electric car, C30 DRIVe Electric, will starting to be delivered in the fall. Volvo has 10 of these cars driving around the streets of Sweden, and the company plans to add 90 more soon to extensive road-test them before the electric C30 wide release expected in the 2013th. The energy is tested together with the local energy company - Göteborg  Energi.

Smaller electric cars reigns at the North American International Autoshow

The North American International Autoshow in Detroit opens up January 11 to 24th 2010. At least 30 new vehicles are scheduled to be revealed for the first time this week and a number of electric-powered vehicles are set to debut at the North American International Auto show.
Ford won the award for the best green city car for the the Fusion Hybrid.

Trends in the motorshow
Salon trend is smaller cars and focus on power and hybrids.

Environmental case for EVs during Climate Summit in Copenhagen

The politicians of the climate summit have been criticized for using 140 private planes and 1200 limos during the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. There are unfortunately not many electric cars or hybrid among that number.

But any solution to the climate crisis must involve active participation from the cities and the politicians. Half the world's population is today living in cities and the number is rapidly growing. Cities of the world are now responsible for
up to 80 per cent of global CO2 emissions.

Fouriertransform to invest 60 MSEK in the fuel cell company Powercell Sweden AB

The Swedish government’s venture capital company for the automotive industry, Fouriertransform, is now making its first investment. SEK 60 M will be invested in Powercell Sweden AB, which develops, produces and sells fuel cells, fuel reformers and auxillary power units.
